Inside Ulaanbaatar there are a number of different transport options, all suited to different time frames and budgets. The cheapest, but slowest, of the public transport alternatives is the trolleybus. These cost a flat rate of 200mnt whatever the distance and travel along fixed routes, which are shown on the Ulaanbaatar City Map. The next option up the scale is to travel by bus. These are faster, smaller, more crowded and slightly more expensive costing a flat 300mnt whatever your journey, their routes are shown on the bus stop banner, and on any Ulaanbaatar city map.
Microbuses (minivans with yellow billboards on their car side and conductors leaning out of windows touting for business) cost between 300mnt – 400mnt. They are relatively fast but hard to figure out and don’t leave without a full van, so be prepared to squeeze! Every car in Ulaanbaatar is a potential taxi. However, there are official taxis with meters. At night it would probably be safest to take an official cab – one firm is easily recognizable as all its cabs are yellow or white and has ads on their sides. Taxi journeys cost around 500mnt per km and adds additional cost if you called them. There are taxi stands outside the State department store, Railway station parking lots, Airport parking lots and other tourist attraction places. But mostly those cabs are unofficial cabs. You should decide and agree the price with driver before you take.
	Taxi: Most taxi service companies are serves their own cars and if you call them, operator gives you the code and estimated time of arrival then you should tell codes to driver.	Car rental service: You can hire cars, too. If you do, it is advisable not to do your own driving. Rather, hire one with a driver and make sure he is liable for accidents. If you have an accident while behind the wheel, you could find yourself facing a heavy penalty.
